Bluebirds have nested in this house for at least five years. Today I was pleasantly surprised to find three eggs had hatched. This house is just outside our garage and therefore a lot of fun to watch. Our Phoebe came back again this year and added to her nest from last year. It is under our deck floor. Isn't spring lovely?
Last Thursday, Ed and I joined the Providence Bank travel group for a tour of Fort Leonard Wood. The weather was ideal. Our first stop was for wine tasting and an informative tour of St. James Winery. Lunch was at the lovely Sybill's Restaurant & Gift Shop in St. James. A step-on military person boarded our motorcoach for a drive-through tour of the base. The above picture was taken at the large new Museum on the base. Ed really enjoyed seeing how much things have changed in the 50+ years since he was stationed there for his six months' active duty. On our way home, we made one final stop at a craft shop in Vienna. As we boarded our motorcoach for the rest of the drive, we were served sandwiches, chips and beverages. This was our first time to travel with this group and it was most enjoyable. Also, no one will go hungry while traveling with Providence Bank!
This past week, DH and I have been spending a far amount of time at our laptop watching the eagles in Decorah Iowa. Three babies are now hatched and already Mom and Dad are busily feeding their offspring. Here is the link for the live camera: http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles
