AN HONOR FLIGHT LAP QUILT

The Missouri River Quilt Guild is making lap quilts for the Veterans who will be making the next Honor Flight to Washington DC.
This patriotic panel was easy to assemble with a solid blue fleece backing.

. . . AND ANOTHER QUILT WAS BOUND

With more very cold days recently, I again hunkered down and bound another beautiful church quilt.
The centers of the big blocks were sewed by a parishioner.  Another lady sewed the outer borders on the blocks and assembled the quilt.  Several different ladies hand-quilted it.
I enjoyed binding this lovely large quilt, about 90 by 110 inches.

I'VE BOUND ANOTHER QUILT

Yesterday was a BITTERLY COLD day.  It was the perfect day to hunker down inside our warm house and put the binding on a quilt that our church ladies had made.  As usual, I did it completely on the sewing machine.  The butterflies are painted.

A DIFFERENT SATURDAY EVENING . . .

We didn't go dancing!  Instead, I hemmed a quilt for a long time friend who plans to give it to her grandson when he gets married next year while watching Mizzou play (and lose) its first SEC game with Georgia.

MY FRIEND'S QUILT

A very dear friend embroidered the blocks, set them together and quilted this queen size quilt for her daughter who is getting married this summer. She asked me to bind it. As usual, I am doing it completely with my sewing machine.

PROJECT FINISHED

Today was the perfect day to finish hemming the quilt that our church ladies made. The second picture shows our screen porch. The wind blew snow off our roof and pushed it through the screen. The floor is a deck floor with cracks. Some of the wider cracks let the fine snow fall through. We have never had anythng like this before.

TODAY'S PROJECT

We are getting a glaze of ice today, however, I am inside my lovely warm house hemming a quilt that will be used as a fundraiser for the Jefferson City Diocese this spring.

ME AND MY PROJECT

I fell a couple of days ago and got a black eye and bruised knee. Right now I can't do some of the things I normally would, so I am at home hemming the quilt that our church ladies completed recently.

VA QUILT

On March 25, 2010, I posted a picture of this quilt top. Now it is quilted and I have started binding it. Tomorrow, I plan to finish it at our Guild Work Day.
Betty, can you tell me once again who quilted it so I may give them recognition.

VA Quilt

This attractive quilt was made by Sharon Clark for the VA Hospital Project and given to me to bind. Until such time, this lovely quilt is adding a lot of interest to our living room. As soon as I get it bound, I will deliver it to Sharon to have it in her home to enjoy until it is donated in November.

I finished hemming this quilt at St. Andrew's this past Tuesday. It has embroidered blocks in it. The quilters make three or four each year. NOTE: I did not do the embroidery, set it together or help hand quilt. I do the hemming and enjoy the fellowship of being with the quilters each week.

VA Quilt Top

My Pfaff sewing machine was
released from Topstitch Hospital
yesterday. It was so nice to have
my favorite features available to
put the borders on this colorful
VA quilt top. Isn't it an eye-catcher!

My VA Quilt Project

I was fortunate to get to the charity sewing event early enough to select a very cheery kit to assemble. Betty had carefully cut and packaged four quilts. All I had to do was sit down at my machine and sew and sew, that is, until my Pfaff quit. Sharon Dunn came to my rescue and let me use her Pfaff for the rest of the day. Yesterday, I used my Featherweight to begin assembling the blocks as seen in the picture.

I finished sewing points on a quilt that I plan to donate next spring to the Evening with the Bishop, a diocesan fund raiser to support vocations. It was in the 60's and we went walking again. Of course, the walk was followed by naps!
